Today each Nobel diploma is a unique work of art. The Literature diploma is written on parchment, i.e. specially treated leather, using largely the same technique as those of medieval book illustrators. The diplomas given to the other Laureates are produced on specially ordered handmade paper.

Each panel is 11 3/8 x 15 1/4 inches (29 x 38.5 cm.) larger than the post-Beck panels (e.g. Barak Obama's Peace Prize diploma interior shown below), which are each 23 x 35 cm.
All diplomas shown above were manufactured by Beck & Son, (Stockholm) who made the Swedish Diplomas from their inception until the mid-1960's (and, for Physics, Chemistry, and Economics, until the early 1970's); Post-Beck & Son diplomas, made by Falth & Hassler, have plain covers, bearing Laureate's name in block letters (see photo to right, of Laureate holding diploma, next to that of Barak Obama's Peace Prize diploma interior).
